いやー、もう9月の下旬と考えると何だか夏が終わったんだなと実感しております。

It is almost end of September. SUMMER is over. I am sad.

さて、皆さんはゲストハウスに宿泊されたことはありますか？

どんなイメージをお持ちでしょうか？

So, have you ever stayed in guesthouse?

What kind of image do you have?

きっと出てくるイメージは

騒がしそう・怖そう・汚そう

It must be

noisy・scary・dirty

こんな具合でしょうか？

それではそのような心配を20％、いや50％くらい払拭するために宿泊の際のポイントを紹介したいと思います。

I will try to reduce the percentage of your concerns and introduce some points when you stay in guesthouse.

【宿泊前編】

【Before staying】

①平日を狙う/Try to book on weekdays

忙しい社会人の皆さん、ごめんなさい。

平日なんて忙しいですよね。あ、、でも有給とか使えれば行けるのか。

Sorry.It is hard for social workers. But, it is okay if you can take paid vacations.

これは主に、お金をできる限りセーブして旅行したい　かつ　時間に比較的余裕のある学生の皆さんに適しているのではないかと思います。

This ways is mainly for students who have time and want to save money.

なぜ平日かというと、ゲストハウス自体の稼働率が落ちるからです。

その為、Max8人ほどが共にするミックスドミトリーでも下手したら2人、いや一人で使用することもありえなくはないのです。しかもホテル等と比べると低価格。

The reason why I recommned you on weekdays is the occupancy rate for hostel decreace. So if you will stay in mix domitory, it will be 2 people in the room. Perhaps, only you.

②グループ（団体）で予約する/ Book in parties

これは、もう懐かしの林間学校スタイルを自分たちで再現するスタイルですね。

This is kind of camp style like your childhood.

運が良ければほんとに自分たちで貸し切り状態を作ることが出来ます。仮に、ほかの宿泊者がいても大人数でいれば気にならないではないでしょうか。

If you are lucky, the room will be for you.　If there are others who you don't know, it is just okay.

肝は予約の段階で交渉できるかです。ぜひ頑張って下さい。

【When you stay】

①共有スペースで料理をしてみる/Cooking in common space

これはどちらかというと他者とのコミュニケーションをするきっかけづくりですね。

This is the way to make a chance to communicate with others .

実際、私はDuckstay Hostelでよく料理をします。

Actuall, I oftten cook when I stay in hostel.

その時によく作るのが、そう。お味噌汁です.

At that time, I often cook miso soup.

＝日本人といっても過言ではないので、よく飲んでいると絡まれます。

it means ＝Japanese. So I have it frequently. Then some people talk to me.

簡単に話す友達を作れるのでおすすめです。逆パターンもあるので、料理をしている人に話かけてみるのもいいですね。

This way is good to make new friends. When you see people who are cooking, it is also good to try to talk.

②魔法をしっかり唱える（※あいさつをしっかりする）

意外に外国語になるとできない人が多いのではないでしょうか。それも異国の地で。

でもほんとシンプルだと思います。ニコっとしながらHi！というだけですから。お忘れなく。

I guess some people cannot say hello when they feel nurvous like the situation when you have to speak other languages. In other countries. But I want to say "It is simple." Just say Hi! with smiling. Do not forget about it.

③耳栓をする/Using ear plags
